Project concept for a new kind of ‘smart’ device that supports learning – not through artificial intelligence but through ‘artificial ignorance’.
Rather than acting as a personal assistant, the DiaLog is a thorn in your side, asking you annoying and difficult questions – such as ‘why’? Learn what no-one can teach by talking to a log.
The device will use voice recognition, speech-to-text and text-to speech to act as an interlocutor, without attempting to guide you in a certain direction other than criticality. It will provide a printed record of your frustrating conversations for further reflection.
The DiaLog will be powered by Raspberry Pi and CMU Pocketsphinx speech recognition software.
