Before building you would need to:
- Calculate the loads on the structure
- Produce plan and section drawings of the frame and joint details
- Draw up a schedule of materials
These are complemented by the standard Segal method documentation:
- A catalogue of elements, showing the general construction of joints etc
- A set of building instructions, describing the steps of building
These documents help you with building of the house, and the first three are a requirement for submitting to the planning authorities, to ensure the structure complies with building regulations. As it develops, Segal Sketchup will be able to help you with producing these drawings, and perhaps also in future with the calculations…
